Baganara Island

Located at the junction point where the mighty Essequibo and Mazaruni Rivers actually meet, Baganara Island is the largest of all of the 365 islands in the river system.

It is a wonderful little paradise of 187 acres of lush green foliage, colourful flowers and being just a 20 minute hop by light aircraft, acts as the perfect relaxing getaway from Georgetown. Whether walking in the jungle, canoeing, fishing, water skiing, river swimming, birdwatching, sunbathing on the soft white sandy beach or simply relaxing in a hammock, Baganara Island is the perfect place to either start or finish an itinerary in Guyana.
